Here is a picture of a place I once spent a lot of time.
"C'mon baby let's go...next to me in SoHo..."

Yes, it's our Sunday night routine. The Sopranos, Sex in the City, The Wire, and then...The Restaurant. Starring...Rocco. Reality television. After that it's bed...trash pickup Monday! :-)

Tonight I met my wife at the home of some friends after work. Towards the end of the gathering I noticed a small stone sculpture displayed in their kitchen. I remarked how I liked this piece very much, whereupon my wife struggled to conceal her embarrassment over my failure to recognize that she and I had given them that piece for Christmas last year. Of course, right away it was, "Oh well, you know men..." and "It's a guy thing." Now, granting that a certain indifference to small knick-knacks certainly applies to myself, does it really add anything to attribute my behavior to some inborn error in mentation supposedly common to my sex? We have to be so careful what we say about various minorities, women, etc. Now this may not be very P.C. but as a member of the most privileged of all groups in human history--the educated white American male--I really have nothing to complain about, and feel guilty just bringing it up. But it bugs me, it really does. Right down to that part of my psyche that is eternally eight years old and just hates it when the girls beat the boys (because even then most of us guys know that they really do have something on us!)
Here is a really silly post. Really, now, I'm just testing something out. Here is a currently much talked about site. There's a lot more to be said here, but I'm actually just testing some simple code.

Here is a thought I had this week. "It is a thought both sublime and mundane: The degree of a society's spiritual insight mirrors its degree of technical sophistication."

Well, tonight I finally "created" my blog. But it's late. Just kissed wife goodnight. Promised I wouldn't stay up late on the computer...which she has affectionately nicknamed, "Vaio," which, of course, is exactly what it is... But when she says it, she means, "Are you and Vaio spending the weekend together?" Go figure!
