My Life in Pieces

Well, once again it's Friday night and everything is all right (or is it alright?)

The snow's a meltin' here in the great swath of land from the front range to the eastern forests. Amen to that. Three days in a row over 40 degrees. And us gaining a full 3 minutes of daylight per day! Can it get any better than where I download the best stuff?

Been a long time. Since that time, I've finally learned to create a VCD--and they actuallyl play on my DVD player. Now the goal is to be able to convert between formats more easily. I can only marvel at the genius that went into building the software I downloaded for free to be able to do this. And yet here I am patting myself on the back for learning how to use it. But it was satisfying, the whole thing.

I cleaned up my hard drive and put all the questionable material on my ipod. About 3 gigs worth of jpegs, mpegs, and so on.

I'm thinking of getting the paid version of Quicktime, except that it only converts to MPEG-4. I don't think I can make VCD's unless I use MPEG-1 or 2. But I could convert to AVI and then from there I have MGI videowave to make the MPEG-1. The cool thing is that I can do all this sh*t they're trying so hard to prevent us from being able to do.
